About the event

Faith-Based Reparations

Speakers: Willye Bryan, Founder Justice League of Greater Lansing, and President Prince Solace.

Description: The Justice League of Greater Lansing, MI, was founded in 2021 by Willye Bryan to repair the breach caused by the historical damage of slavery and its aftermath. In the spirit of repentance for the sin of racism, the Justice League facilitates reparations between houses of worship and collaborative partners to increase wealth equity for descendants of enslaved African Americans in the Greater Lansing Area. The 175-member First Presbyterian Church recently donated $100,000 to the Justice League. Pastor Stanley Jenkins: One of our missions is to normalize the idea of reparations and encourage nationwide discussion. If you had asked me three or four years ago, I would have said that it was a crazy idea.

Course Objective: How to start a faith-based reparations group.
